Have you ever considered toning this?

Well, it's just that toning is a (very artisitic) manipulation when you get right down to it.
Ummm...I mean are you gonna take it on color film with a gold/sepia-colored filter over the lens?
I think toning has been such a common practice thruout B+W photo history that it's hardly considered 'unethical'.
And if you are printing your own, I'm sure the toner is still available.
If you get a chance, look in my favorites for a shot called 'Untitled-11'. I forget who did it.
But, I say, give it a try. And if you don't like it, just discard it.
Still it's great the way it is.
